Met Up

Well, it happened. Finally a meet up with some girls from my grade 8 class. And let me tell you, I don't think that I have ever been so nervous as this before. It must have been the anticipation of seeing old friends/classmates..it's been a while...a long while. I finally arrived at the location which this was all planned out for us, and I walked in and down the long staircase ( only 3 steps) to where the ladies were all sitting..when I see them look up at me..there was silence for a second ( during this second of silence I was thinking..Oh my gosh do they not remember me? Have I gotten that fat that they can't recognize me!) And just then they all said " Chrissy "! Was nice to be remembered happily. I went around and gave everyone a hug and said how happy I was to see them, then found a seat and sat down. The ladies had all ordered lunch already so it was my turn. I of course asked them all what they had ordered, just so I didn't look like a huge pig. So I ordered a Chicken Caesar salad-with the dressing on the side..specific instructions. So about 15 minutes later all the food starts arriving, everyone gets their plates, then it comes down to our end of the table she starts setting stuff down in front of people, then she says: " And who ordered this salad which was a totally different salad then what I had ordered..but no one was taking it...so....little ol' me said right here. So the lady set it down in front of me, don't get me wrong I started to eat it and it was so good, BUT...then another lady came out holding a dish and said to us: " And who ordered the Chicken Caesar salad with the dressing on the side" ? OK I felt about 2 inches high. And of course I didn't want to speak up and say " UUMM OH ME..the one who already took a huge plate of salad." So I sat quietly and acted dumb, even though two of the girls had heard me order this specific dish. WHY does that happen to me, I should have just spoke up, but no I didn't. Needless to say they took the salad back and I continued to eat what I had, it turned out fine.
We snapped pictures, and gossipped about the old times from public school, and caught up on each other. It was so nice to see everyone, and get reacquainted with them all. So funny how we all turn out so differently. It was a great visit, and hopefully we will keep up on them, and not let the visits go so long next time...hopefully. Maybe next time I'll take the dish i actually ordered.

too funny...that's totally something Jen would do. lol lol!
I on the other hand am such an outspoken nitwit that I would've cleared it up with the manager....or at least taken both salads.

Somewhere in the world somebody else is complaining about the salad they ordered that never arrived. That's funny.

I agree with busy mom! I wouldn't have ordered a salad either! I tend to not really pay attention to what everyone else is eating....
Sounds like a fun idea. I don't even know where the people from 8th grade are since I changed schools 3 times afterward!

Guess I'm a little timid...don't like to make a scene. But I love Salads thats why I order them..and then usually taste better when someone else makes them for ya.
